GREETINGS from the Oklahoma City Orchestra League, Inc. Our history of providing music education to our youth and financial support to the Oklahoma City Philharmonic through fundraising activities goes back 70 years. The league’s mission is to educate, enrich, and inspire the community by supporting orchestral music and promoting volunteerism. Our member volunteers work year round planning and implementing the many award winning
educational programs and instrumental competitions that touch the lives of thousands of children and adults in the Oklahoma City area and beyond. The Orchestra League continues a rich tradition of promoting and supporting philharmonic music that enhances the culture of our community.
2017-18 will be a busy year for the league. Along with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic we will say farewell to Joel Levine and welcome to Alexander Mickelthwate. On October 27th we will hold a gala sendoff to Maestro Levine at the 3rd annual Maestro’s Ball. During the year we have scheduled music
education session for our youth in their schools as well as other venues. In addition Music Competitions will offer presentation opportunities as well as monetary awards to the talented young musicians in Oklahoma. Rounding out the year will be our 45th Show House. As President of the Oklahoma City Orchestra League, Inc., I invite you to become a member and participate in our many volunteer activities. You will find new friends as well as rewarding as well as fun times.
